Susan Lynn Nelson (Redinger), 51, passed away January 30, 2008 at The University of Minnesota Hospital in Minneapolis. Born Feb. 14, 1956 to Nina and the late J. Lee Redinger of Wausau, WI, she was the beloved wife of Joseph B. Nelson, loving mother of Rebecca and Jessica Nelson, sister of Cheryl Redinger of Crystal, MN and Scott (Lynn) Redinger of Merrill, WI, granddaughter of Aline Dixon, Munith, MI, and sister-in-law of Kert (Debra) Nelson of St. Bonifacius, MN and Les (Jeanine) Nelson, of Oswego, Il.
A resident of Shorewood, MN for the past 28 years, Susan was well respected and professionally recognized in the business community. In her chosen field of Information Technology Project Management Consulting, Susan's project teams consistently delivered results for national and international clients. For the past 27 years she was a consultant with Keane Inc., a global information technology company, and in recent years she demonstrated that she could operate in the global workplace managing projects where the workforce was in North America and India.
But most of all, Susan's priority was her family. She loved spending time with her children and husband; whether it was sitting at the local Dunn Brother's Coffee Shop with Joe, planning their next canoe trip to the Boundary Waters Canoe Area, leading her daughter's Girl Scout troops, or attending their school and band outings. Susan was devoted to her daughters, and was always there for support.
Her daughter, Jessica, remembers her mother helping her with her schoolwork, quizzing her to help her prepare for tests, and encouraging her music. Susan attended every marching band competition and music recital, helping out with uniforms and wherever she was needed. Jessica attributes her discovering her own love of music and band to her mother, and vows to continue playing her flute to honor her memory.
As a family, they cherished these times together and she will be greatly missed, but her devotion will serve as an inspiration to them throughout their lives.
Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m., Monday, February 4, 2008 at Wesley United Methodist Church. Reverend Rey Diaz will officiate. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park.
