Theda LaVake

Theda "Teddie" LaVake (nee Davis), 85, passed away on Sunday, March 20, 2016, at Tender Reflections in Weston, of congestive heart failure while under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services.

Theda was born on October 3, 1930, in New Bern, North Carolina to her parents Alton and Ruth (Warren) Davis. She married Keith LaVake in 1948 in New Bern, North Carolina.

A loving mother and wife, Theda dedicated her life to her family and to always helping others. A truly sweet soul with Irish eyes always shining. Theda will always be remembered by the many friends and family whose lives she touched. Many thanks to the devoted staff at Tender Reflections will miss her cheerful spirit.

Theda is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Steven and Carolyn LaVake of Lac Du Flambeau, daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Gary Morehead of Wausau, son and daughter-in-law Jerry and Karen LaVake of Ridgecrest, CA, son Jeffrey LaVake of Neenah, and daughter and son-in-law Renee and Dan True of Oak Ridge, NC. Theda is also survived by grandchildren Joshua Burt, Chris Brown, Jason, Jordan, Nicholas and Zachary LaVake, and Jeff, Andrew, Michael, and Hannah True.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Keith, who passed in 1994.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Thursday, March 24, 2016, Trinity Lutheran Church, 501 Stewart Ave, Wausau, with Reverend Gary Schultz officiating. Visitation will be held from 4-6 p.m. Wednesday, March 23, 2016, at the Helke Funeral Home, 302 Spruce St. Wausau. Interment will be in the Pine Grove Cemetery, Wausau.
