Theresa Ostrowski

Theresa Ostrowski, 99, of Wausau passed away on Friday, December 30, 2016 at Atrium Post Acute Care of Weston.

She was born December 22, 1917 in Hatley to the late Theodore and Dora (Pozorski) Milanowski. On April 24, 1937, Theresa married Zigmund Ostrowski in Hatley. Shortly after being married they move to Wausau and became members of Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church. Theresa was a housekeeper for many years for Dr. Charles and Maxine Balliet, Donald and Clarice McCutcheon and Elmer and Betty Puestow. They all welcomed her as one of their family. Theresa enjoyed her time in the kitchen making wonderful meals for family and friends. She always had something cooking on the stove. In their younger years, Theresa and Zigmund loved to go Polka dancing. She especially enjoyed the Polish Hop or just listening to Sunday Polkas. Theresa always looked forward to spending time with her kids and grandkids. She will be sadly missed.

Theresa is survived by her son, Ernie (Barbara Church) Ostrowski of Dunbar, WI, two daughters, Barb (Jim) Manitzki of Townsend, WI, Kathy Drake of Wausau, six grandchildren, Jean (Keith) Challe, Todd Ostrowski, Lynn (Glenn) Stutzman, Stacy (Gary) Yashinsky, Al (Beth) Manitzki, Karen (Randy) Blohm, thirteen great grandchildren, ten great great grandchildren, two brothers-in-law, Leonard Imhoff and Clair (Jeanette) Ostrowski, all of Wausau, two sisters-in-law, Angeline Milanowski and Nona Ostrowski, both of Wausau.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Zigmund on March 30, 1972, grandson, Mark Ostrowski on January 31, 1970, three brothers, Ed, Theodore and Felix Milanowski and two sisters, Esther Jagler and Clara Zillman. Theresa also had two furry friends, Tiny and Pepper who passed away. Hopefully she is with them now.

The Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at Noon on Wednesday, January 4, 2017 at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church, 1104 S. 9th Ave., Wausau. Father Dan Thelen will officiate. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services on Wednesday at the church. You may sign our family guest book at helke.com.
