Thomas W. Albers, 82, of Wausau and Gulf Shores, AL passed away Tuesday, March 18, 2014 at Applegate Terrace with his son, Clark by his side, under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services.
Thomas was born to William and Adeline (Duval) Albers in Wausau on August 19, 1931. Tom married Joyce Elaine Zerneke in Wausau August 28, 1954. She passed away on her 81st birthday, October 6, 2009.
Tom was a Marine Corps Veteran and also had the honor of participating in the Honor Flight. He graduated from Antigo High School and the University of Wisconsin – Stevens Point with his B.S. degree in Resource Management. Tom worked as a conservation warden and conservation warden supervisor for 31 years with the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources.
Thomas is survived by his children, San Albers of Kaneohe, HI, Pam (Kieron) Wiley of Plano, TX, Judi Sarafin of Eldridge, IA and Clark (Jackie) Albers of Marshfield; granddaughters, Anne Sarafin and Rachel (Ian) Merrill; sister, Geraldine (Phil) Morrison of Centennial, CO; extended family and friends.
A memorial service for Tom will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, April 7, at Covenant Community Presbyterian Church, Schofield. Pastor Jess Wakefield will officiate. Visitation will be from 9:00 AM until the time of services at the church on Monday. Tom and Joyce's cremated remains will be buried together at Pine Grove Cemetery. Military honors will be rendered by the American Legion Post #10 and the Conservation Warden Honor Guard. A luncheon will follow at the church.
