Thomas Norman Seefeldt, 70, Wausau, died Tuesday, February 7, 2017 at Ministry Saint Clare's Hospital, Weston.
Tom was born June 18, 1946 in Wausau to the late Adolph and Hilda (Koch) Seefeldt. He was a 1964 graduate of Wausau High School, later earning his BS in Social Science at the UW Stevens Point and an AA in Industrial Engineering at Northcentral Tech. Tom met Carol Schuetz through his youth group at Saint Paul's UCC in 1963 beginning their courtship and the couple was later married on June 7, 1969. The couple was blessed with two sons, Kurt and Steve. He faithfully served his country in the National Guard and Army Reserve for over 20 years retiring as Sergeant First Class from the 376th Finance Unit. Over the years, Tom worked as an industrial engineer for Crestline, Hurd and Anson & Gilkey and most recently as a safety manager for Semco.
Tom was a good man who loved his wife, sons and grandchildren deeply and who always put his family first. He never missed one of his sons' soccer games and enjoyed spending time with his family hunting, fishing and snowmobiling. Some of Tom's favorite times were spent at his hunting cabin or the family cottage. He was a lifelong member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ, serving at one time as the president of the congregation, an usher and the finance and stewardship committees for many years. Tom was also a proud supporter of the Green Bay Packers, faithful member of the Wausau Elks Lodge #248, Somo Lake Fish and Game Club and the Sno-Jets snowmobile club. Tom was also an excellent cook, learned from his family's time owning and running Seefeldt's Supper Club.
Tom is survived by his beloved wife of 47 years, Carol; sons, Kurt (Karena) and Steve (Lindsay); grandchildren, Matthew, Alyeska, Nathaniel and Jordy; faithful dog, Woody and his favorite feline, Ginger.
