Thomas L. Wohlfahrt, 80, of Wausau, passed away at home on Monday, June 10, 2013. He was born to Elmer and Helen (Thomas) Wohlfahrt on February 8, 1933 in Wausau. After he completed high school he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served during the Korean War. He married Betty Jane Deicher on January 19, 1953, in Reno, Nevada.
Thomas worked as a draftsman at Wausau Iron Works, as a mechanic at Day's Bowl-a-Dome, and most recently at Wausau Water Works. He was also a former member of the Marathon County Board.
Thomas is survived by his daughters, Cheryl Wohlfahrt and Linda Conn, both of Wausau; grandchildren, Eric (Christina) Conn of Oshkosh and Thomas (Amy) Conn of Grand Chute; sisters-in-law, Wilma (Jerry) Quaderer of Crystal Lake, IL, and Kathy Deicher of Edgar; and a niece and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty; and parents.
A funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, June 14, 2013, at Helke Funeral Home, 302 Spruce St., Wausau, with Rev. Wayne Drueck of Grace United Church of Christ officiating. Visitation will begin at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home until the time of service. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park, town of Texas, with military honors provided by V.F.W. Burns Post #388.
