Timothy Knutson, 77, of Rothschild, WI, passed away on October 10, 2024, after a short illness.
Tim was born on December 3, 1946, in Eau Claire, WI, to Russell and Virginia (nee Kinderman) Knutson, who preceded him in death.
Tim graduated from the UW-Eau Claire; he also served in the US Army and was stationed in Korea.
On June 24, 1994, in Wausau, Wisconsin, he married Jane Olson, who survives him.
Tim retired after a career working in information systems with NCR and Wausau Financial Systems.
Tim was very handy and creative. He enjoyed woodworking and designing projects for the home and yard. When Tim wasn’t working on home projects or gardening with Jane, he enjoyed exploring cooking, tinkering with herbs and spices and creating recipes. Tim was known for his mean chili and three-gallon batches of a variety of winter soups.
He was fan of the Packers and Bucks. He enjoyed spending time on the patio, where he mastered grilling, and thoughtfully decorated with his own artistic flair. Tim always found time to help neighbors, family and friends with their home projects.
In addition to his wife Jane, he is also survived by his brother, Terry (Mary) Knutson, Eau Claire, WI; sister, Kris (Tim) Weiss, Red Wing, MN; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Jack and Sheryl Olson, Mora, MN; along with many nieces, nephews and friends, including his close neighbors, Rob and Heidi Hughes and their girls.
Per Tim's request, there will be no funeral. A gathering for family and friends will be held on Sunday, November 17, 2024 at the Rothschild Village Hall, from Noon to 3pm.
Memorials will go toward a bench to be placed along the Cedar Creek Trail where Tim and Jane enjoyed many miles of walking along the Wisconsin River.
