Udaire Allord, 89, of Wausau passed away on Saturday, June 8, 2013 at Benedictine Manor, Wausau.
He was born August 3, 1923 in Tomahawk to the late Reginold and Elzie (Mitchell) Allord. After graduating from high school, Udaire served in the U.S. Army during WWII stationed in Germany until his discharge. On June 5, 1948, he married Martha Yatchak in Wakefield, Michigan. After moving to Wausau, Udaire and Martha raised their four children, Mary, Carol, Michael and Peggy with Udaire working at First American National Bank and Martha working at Krause, Howard accounting office and Woodson Family office. After 33 years with First American, Udaire purchased and operated Emmetts Foot Support in downtown Wausau. After selling the business, he enjoyed driving school bus for the Mosinee School District. In 1989, Udaire and Martha retired to Woodruff, where Udaire continued driving school bus for that school district and both were members of Holy Family Catholic Church. In his earlier years, Udaire was a little league coach, an active curler at the Wausau Curling Club and member of VFW Burns Post #388 and the Elks Club. Some of his past times included fishing, woodworking and loved playing the organ.
He is survived by Martha of Wausau, four children, Mary (Michael) Moen of Wausau, Carol Kelly and Peggy Sullivan both of White Bear Lake, MN, Michael (Julie) Allord of Henderson, NV, thirteen grandchildren, Michael (Bridget) Kelly, Bradley (Roberta) Raasch, Heather (Tom) Leier, Amy Galanski, Hydie (Jamie Sebold) Sullivan, Christina Davis, Molly (Derek Cotton) Moen, Christopher (Angela) Raasch, Casey Allord, Beth (Michael) Bloom, Molly (John) Duckett, John (Tammy) Sullivan, Colby (Lisa) Allord and thirty great grandchildren. Udaire was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Celeste Newkirk and Geraldine Horn, great grandson, Matthew Raasch and grandson-in-law, Stanley Galanski.
A memorial mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, June 27, 2013 at the Church of St. Anne, 700 West Bridge St., Wausau. Father Alan Burkhart will officiate.
