Vincent K. Howard, 71, of Wausau passed away on Saturday January 19, 2019 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital from complications due to Myotonic Muscular Dystrophy. He was born on May 7, 1947 to the late Vincent R. and Loraine (Diekfuss) Howard. On February 16, 1974 Vincent married Judy Ellen Ewald in Wausau.
Vincent attended U.W.M.C., going onto the University of Wisconsin Madison, earning his bachelor’s degree. He then went onto law school at Marquette University. Vincent came back to Wausau, was in private practice for 10 years, eventually serving as a Judge for Marathon County Circuit Court for over 30 years. He was a member of the Noon Kiwanis Club and the Elks Lodge. Throughout his life he attended First United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife Judy, siblings Karen (Michael) Morrisey, Hewitt; Kurt (Karen) Howard, Wausau; Koral Howard, Wausau; Kristal (Jerry) Knapp, Wausau; Kimberly (Scott) Reynolds, Reno, NV ; 11 nieces and nephews and 18 great nieces and nephews; uncle Allen Schultz, Waukesha.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be Wednesday January 23, 2019 at the Helke Funeral Home, 302 Spruce St., from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00p.m. The Family is having a private service at First United Methodist. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church, 903 3rd Street, Wausau WI 54403 or the Muscular Dystrophy Association, 161 N. Clark Suite 3550, Chicago IL 60601.
