Vincent B. Richards Jr., 72, of Wausau, died Saturday June 5, 2010 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital surrounded by his loving wife and family.
Vincent was born September 10, 1937 in Wausau to Vincent and Florentina (Sahr) Richards Sr. He married Judith Winnie on April 27, 1963 in Wausau. Vincent worked as a millwright for J. I.Case. He proudly served in the United States Marines.
Vincent was known as the neighborhood fix-it man. He enjoyed being in the outdoors hunting, fishing or just being out in the woods. Vincent enjoyed listening to the Brewers, dirt track racing, bird watching, listening to Polka music and radio talk shows, and was a radio hobbyist. He loved spending time with his family and always had time for his black lab, Annie.
Survivors include his wife Judith of Wausau, three sons; Mark (Cassie Geiger) Richards of Appleton, Alan (Candy) Richards of Wausau, and Brian Richards of Wausau, three granddaughters; Jonica, Jensen, and Jayden Richards all of Wausau, his mother Florentina Richards of Merrill, one brother James (Kay) Richards of Mosinee and three sisters; Joan (Allen) Liegel of Madison, Ruth (Roger) Wagner of Sayner, and Kathleen Hain of Ohio.
Vincent was preceded in death by his father Vincent Sr.
Funeral services will be 11:30 a.m. Thursday June 10, 2010 at St. Matthew’s Catholic Church, Wausau. Father Robert Thorn will officiate. Private burial will be in Rib View Cemetery, town of Stettin. Visitation will be Thursday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services at the church. The Helke Funeral Home, Wausau, is assisting the family with arrangements.
