Violet Radant

Violet D. Radant, 83, Wausau passed away on Friday, May 15, 2009 at Colonial Manor Medical and Rehabilitation Center.


She was born January 2, 1926 in Wausau to the late Kenneth and Erna (Seehafer) Huckbody. Violet married Eldon Radant on June 21, 1947 at First English Lutheran Church , Wausau . In her earlier years, Violet was an active volunteer at Grant School and taught Sunday School at St. Stephen Lutheran Church for 42 years. She loved taking care of her family. She was a wonderful homemaker and was known for her cooking and baking. Violet enjoyed playing Bingo, Rap Poker and other card games.


Survivors include her husband, Eldon of Wausau, four children, Bruce (Rita) of Wausau, Neal (Sandi) of Wausau, Cheryl of Merrill, Scott (Debra) of Wausau, 6 grandchildren, Jesse, Andy, Ashley (Kip) Downing, Brooke, Brian, Jenny (Ryan) Helmer, 1 great granddaughter, Hailey Radant, one brother, Larry (Sandy) Huckbody of Pine River, MN, two sisters, Lorraine Blanco of Milwaukee, Marion Mussell of Merrill, and two sister-in-laws, Beverly Huckbody of Hazelhurst, and Ella Huckbody of Wausau. Violet was further preceded in death by two granddaughters, Monica and Michelle, two brothers, Howard and Milton and one sister, Audrey.


Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. , Wednesday, May 20, 2009 at St. Stephen Lutheran Church, Wausau . Reverend Dennis Creswell will officiate. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery . Visitation will be at the church on Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services.
