Virginia Buetow

Virginia M. Buetow, 71, Wausau, died Monday, August 4, 2014 at her home surrounded by her beloved family under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services.

Virginia was born March 22, 1943 in Marathon City to the late Henry and Melba (Towle) Pahl. As one of eight children, she learned early on the value of hard work and love of her family. Virginia worked for Fiskars for 15 years until it closed and she subsequently retired. She married Dale Buetow on February 23, 1990 in Wausau.

Virginia was a strong, forgiving and giving woman, who always sought to help those less fortunate than her. The two things in her life that she loved above all else were her God and family. Through all the ups and downs in life, her faith and love of her family never wavered. Virginia was a wonderful cook and baker, taking pride in having a collection of cookbooks that took up an entire wall in her home. She also had a keen love for jewelry and crocheting in her free time. Virginia will forever be known as the "Dollar Store Queen" for her ability to spend hours quietly roaming the isles for deals.

Virginia is survived by her husband, Dale; children, Jean (Don) Styler, Kevin Gregory, Keith Dodd, Jackie (Shannon) Kasten, Kyle (Betty) Tesch and Klayton Tesch; grandchildren, Joshua, Jacob, Johnathon, Danielle, Colton, David, AimeA"", Dylan, Janette, Mitchell, Kayleigh, Klayton Jr., Tyler and Brianna; 5 great-grandchildren; siblings, Frances Felix and Celestine Tesch; sister-in-law, Lynne Paul; brother-in-law, Michael LaChapelle; and extended family and friends. She is preceded in death by her siblings, Dixie Lee, Dennis Wayne, Terrell Pahl, Timothy Pahl and Andrea LaChapelle.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, August 13th, 2014 at Helke Funeral Home, Wausau. Pastor Lynne Pahl will officiate. A visitation will begin at 1:00 PM on Wednesday at the funeral home and last until the time of services. You may sign our family guestbook at www.helke.com.
