Virginia Salvesen, 85, passed away on Sunday November 2, 2008 at Colonial Manor Medical and Rehabilitation Center.
Virginia Little was born August 17, 1923 in Aniwa to the late Charles and Edna (Hansen) Little. She married Erling “Curly” Salvesen on September 12, 1942 and they spent 33 loving years together before she was widowed in 1976.
Virginia enjoyed reading and baking. Her home was always open to friends and family. Visitors always knew that there was a fresh cup of coffee and homemade goodies waiting. Family was very important to Virginia and she especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Virginia is survived by her son, Bill (Karen) Salvesen of Wausau; daughter, Mary (Frank) Albee of Ringle; daughter in-law, Mary Gene Salvesen of Aniwa; brothers, Jim Little of Wausau and John (Betty) Little of Anderson, IN; sister, Vivian Thompson of Wausau; sister in-law Carol Little of Aniwa; 5 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her son, Robert and brothers, Cliff, Bill, Tom, and Bob.
Funeral services will be at 12 pm Wednesday November 5, 2008 at Helke Funeral Home, Wausau. Reverend John Little will be officiating. Visitation will be from 10 am Wednesday until the time of services at the funeral home. Burial will be at Bethany Lutheran Cemetery, Aniwa.
