Virginia Vickerman

Virginia Ann Vickerman, 87, Wausau, died Monday, April 19, 2010 at Mount View Care Center.
Virginia was born June 12, 1922 in Halder to the late John and Margaret (Michaels) Kafka. She married Glenn Vickerman on October 20, 1945 in Marshfield. The couple was blessed with the birth of two children, Lyle and Marlene. The couple celebrated 57 years together before Glenn’s death on September 12, 2003.
Throughout her life, Virginia was a gentle soul who was thankful for everything and never complained. She worked as a custodian for the Wausau schools until her retirement. In her free time, Virginia simply liked to go shopping, work with her plants and flowers or in her later years watch game shows and Animal Planet. Virginia was a happy person with a simple and humble approach to life.
Virginia is survived by her loving children, Lyle (Lori) Vickerman of Rothschild and Marlene (Michael) Thornor of Manhattan Beach, CA; sisters, Arlene Lucas of Oconto and Junilla Kafka of Wausau; sister-in-law, June Doine of Marshfield; and many more extend family and friends. She is preceded in death by her brothers, Harold and Gilbert; and sisters, Verene Christiansen and Eulelia Lemanski.
Funeral services will be 12:00 PM Thursday, April 22, 2010 at the Helke Funeral Home, Wausau. Reverend Gary Schultz will be officiating. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM on Thursday at the funeral home and conclude at the time of services at noon. You may sign our family guestbook at www.helke.com.
