Wallace Jehn

August 19, 1923 — June 7, 2014

Wallace "Wally" E. Jehn, age 90, of Schofield, went to his heavenly home where he will continue to share his love for family and friends in eternity. During his stay here on earth he spent his lifetime giving to others, whether it was time, expertise, or financial, he gave it all with love. His greatest pleasure was music and playing his concertina. He loved dancing polkas and singing his favorite church hymns.

Wallace was born August 19, 1923, to Arthur and Alma (Schade) Jehn. He married Annabelle Dollof in 1945. They had two children, Forrest and Brian.

Wallace was a World War II veteran serving with the 555th Engineers Division. They specialized in pontoon bridge construction and built several key bridges in Germany. He also served as a medic. Wallace was a lifetime member of V.F.W. Burns Post #388. When he returned to civilian life he worked for American Can Company, later James River, as a five-color press operator, foreman, and president of the pressman's union. In retirement he loved gardening, making homemade berry wines, and repairing T.V.'s for family and friends.

Wallace is survived by his brother, Charles Jehn of Weston; sister, Marion Kolpitcke of Denver, CO; grandchildren, Jami (Jehn) Detjens, Lorrie Jehn, Jodi (Jehn) Mogavero, Joshua Jehn, Kevin Jehn, and Amber Jehn; 14 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandsons.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Annabelle; sons, Forrest and Brian; parents; brothers, Reno (Agnes Hargrave), George, Edward, and Ervin (Phillis Ladwig); two grandchildren, Cory and Jesse Jehn; and two great-grandchildren, Zackary Mumford and Christopher Jehn.
