Walter John Borth 1/1/57 – 8/19/12
Please help us celebrate Wally's life. Wally was a man of great heart, compassion, love and laughter. Wally was a kind and gentle man, and was the first person most of us turned to when we needed support, understanding, and help of any kind. He was generous with his hugs, time, and heart.
Wally was the center of our universe. All of us are connected through him and his greatest gift, his music.
Wally loved his family, his friends, and his acquaintances. And he loved us all with equal measure. His children and his wife got the best of that love, because we had the most of it.
Wally was a musician from his early childhood, all of us heard him sing at one time or another, and you could always find him with a guitar of some kind in his hands. If you gave him a note, he would make a song out of it. Give him a word, get a ballad. Wally embraced every kind of music there is, and he sang it with his whole being. Wally loved the Lord, and wrote many songs celebrating that love.
He created New Country Sound, and made that band the basis of most of the friendships that we all still enjoy after 30 years. He sang with other bands along the way, and enjoyed a long partnership with Living River.
Wally introduced all of us to the joy of music, laughter, love, and friendship. And for that, we will all always be immeasurably blessed.
Everyone loved Wally as much as he loved us. And for that, we, his family will be forever grateful.
Wally spent his last day doing what he loved to do, hanging with his best friend in Green Bay, playing trivia. We will always be thankful that he had the opportunity to have that day.
Wally is survived by his former wife, Marla, and even though they were no longer married, they continued their close friendship. He is also survived by his children, Christopher Farvour, October and Zachary Borth; his grandsons, Vincent Robert Farvour and Leo Cristian Euclide-Borth, who was absolutely the love of his life; his former mother in law, Jeanie Brown, who counted Wally as her best friend; and his best and longest friend, Glick. His extended family includes all of the people who loved him and were touched by his love.
We especially want to thank Virginia Gregory, Amanda Omernick, Bradley Weber, and Andrew Krenz, who were there from the time this happened, who shared all of the most intense grief and sorrow with us, and who wrapped their arms around us and held us when we fell apart. We love you guys, and will never forget the love and support that you gave us. We also appreciate the staff of the ambulance and hospital who helped us through this terrible experience.
Wally believed in giving his all in everything he did, and he wanted to donate anything he could to any of those that needed it. Other people will benefit from his heartfelt gift.
