Walter “ Wally” Mais, 92, of Wausau, died Friday May 22, 2009 at home.
Wally was born November 4, 1916 in the town of Berlin, to the late Ferdinand and Augusta (Mohr) Mais. He married Verna Fehlhaber on September 2, 1939 in the town of Berlin. Wally owned and operated Wally’s Autobody Shop in Rib Mountain for 37 years.
Survivors include his wife Verna of Wausau, one son; Jerome ( Paula ) Mais of Rockford, Il, one daughter; Joanne ( Paul ) Thies of Bel Air, MD, three grandchildren; Kareen, Jennifer and Matthew, four great grandchildren and one brother Ferdinand (Dorothy) Mais of Wausau.
Wally was preceded in death by 13 brothers and sisters.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday May 28, 2009 at St. Stephen Lutheran Church, Wausau. Entombment will be in Restlawn Memorial Park Mausoleum. Visitation will be Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of services at the church. The Helke funeral Home, Wausau assisted the family with arrangements.
