Walter Rein

Walter Rein, 87, of Wausau died Monday, April 18, 2011 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.
Walter was born November 14, 1923 in the town of Kronenwetter to the late Wesley and Anna (Mondrosch) Rein. He married Katharine Kufahl on June 30, 1951 at Trinity Lutheran Church. She preceded him in death on November 25, 1995. Walter was an Army veteran and worked as a machinist for Murray Machinery until retirement.
Survivors include one daughter, Kathleen (Larry) Steingraber of Slinger, one son, Donald (Linda) Rein of Wausau, three grandchildren, Ashley and Jordan Rein and Daniel Steingraber, three brothers, Robert (Marge) of Mosinee, Anthony (Gerry) of Champagne, Ill, Henry (Mary) of Mosinee, and three sisters, Josephine (Harold) Stieber of Bushnell, Fl, Marjorie Miller of Georgia, and Lillian (Lawrence)Drake of Mosinee. He was further preceded in death by a brother, John.
Services will be 10:30 a.m., Saturday, April 23, 2011 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Wausau. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services at the church. Helke Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
