Walter Wix

Walter G. Wix, 74, a resident of Mount View Care Center, formerly of the town of Eau Pleine (Stratford), passed away May 12th 2011, under palliative care, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.

He was the son of the late Arthur and Marie (Kieffer) Wix, born on June 6th 1936, in the town of Eau Pleine, Marathon County, where he lived most of his life.

He was a dairy farmer, before he became ill. In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting deer and other game.

He is survived by his sister, Marjorie (Edwin) Ahles, Tomahawk; sister-in-law, Genevieve Wix, Rudolph; and many nieces and nephews.

Along with his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers, Henry (Selvina), Arthur, Richard, and Jerome; and his sister, Dorothy (Elmer) Oelrich.

A special thanks to John Faville, who for many years cared for Walter, as his guardian and friend.

A memorial service will be held at 7:00 p.m., Thursday, May 19th 2011, at the Helke Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. until the time of service, Thursday, at the funeral home.
