Walter "Junior" Brendemuehl

Walter R. “Junior” Brendemuehl, 76, of Weston, passed away on Wednesday, June 12, 2019 at Atrium Birch Hill, in Shawano.

Walter was born on October 26, 1942 to the late Walter and Irene (Aschbrenner) Brendemuehl. After completing high school, Walter joined the National Guard and served his Country honorably. On February 4, 1967, Walter married the love of his life, Paulette Huffman. Together they raised two daughters, Wendy and Amy. After retiring as a crane operator, Walter went on to drive bus for the kids at D.C Everest. He truly enjoyed his time working with the children and loved it when they would tell him, "goodbye Mr. Walter".

In his free time, Walter enjoyed going hunting and fishing, watching birds, going to auctions and carpentry work. After retirement, Walter found a love for cooking. He would find recipes online and try new spices. Paulette always came home to a home cooked meal. His love and laughter will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Walter is survived by his loving wife, Paulette; daughters, Wendy (Robert) Sternberg and Amy (Josh) Unertl; grandchildren, Nikole (Justin Wester) Sternberg, Brittney (Bradley) Althoff, Travis (Rebecca) Unertl, and Taylor Unertl; great-granddaughter, Judith Wester; brothers, John (Inga), Eugene, Scott (Pam), Mike (Sue), and George (Renee) Brendemuehl; sister, Patricia (Robert) Fenhaus; mother-in-law, Lucille Huffman; brother-in-law, Robert (Sharon) Huffman; sister-in-law’s, Pamela Huffman, Linda (Rodney) Neuendank and Nancy (James) Kalinke. Walter is further survived by many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Walter was preceded in death by his brothers, Donald and Roger Brendemuehl; and sister, Beverly Hack.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, June 18, 2019, at Mount Calvary Lutheran Church, 503 Schmidt Ave, Rothschild. Pastor Richard Block will officiate. Visitation will take place from 4pm until 7 pm on Monday, June 17, 2019 at Helke Funeral Home, 302 Spruce Street, Wausau; and again from 10:00 am until the time of services on Tuesday at the church.
