Wayne Alan Elmer Voigt, 62, of Wausau, died at his home, February 28, 2017.
Wayne was born January 24, 1955, son of the late Sheldon and Dorothy (Ohlmann) Voigt Sr. He received his education in Wausau and graduated from Wausau West High School in 1973.
Wayne then began working at Marathon Electric until his health decline and he was unable to continue working. On June 14, 1975, he was married to Debra Carazalla at St. Anne Catholic Church. They made their home in Wausau where he continued to live following Debra's death on January 28, 2008.
Wayne enjoyed anything to do with NASCAR racing, which included any race that was on TV and his collection of model cars and trucks. He also enjoyed spending time in his yard, tending to his flowers and garden and a trip fishing now and then.
He is survived by his siblings, Robert (Karen) Voigt of Wausau, Sheldon (Karen) Voigt Jr. and Michael (Andrea) Voigt both of Merrill, a sister Susan (Lyle) Thurs of Athens, a sister-in-law, Karen Voigt of Wausau and several nieces and nephews.
Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, wife Debra, and a brother Richard.
A private family gathering was held at Helke Funeral Home with burial at Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau.
