William H. Leitzke, 83, of Weston, passed away Sunday, February 12, 2017, at Atrium Post Acute Care in Weston following a courageous fight with Parkinson's disease.
William was born February 24, 1933, in Wausau to the late Herbert and Minnie (Gensmann) Leitzke.
He attended school in Wausau where he graduated from Wausau High School. William married Shirley Blair on September 26, 1953, in Wausau and then served his country in the United States Army for two years as a mechanic. Following his discharge he was employed with Pirwitz Buick Pontiac for 25 years and then with Drott Mfg. /J.I. Case and then at Kolbe and Kolbe. He also obtained his private pilot license. William was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church.
William is survived by his wife Shirley and their four children, Jeffrey (Kristine) Leitzke of Weston, Randy (Anja) Leitzke, of Rothschild, Bradley (Karen) Leitzke of Sheboygan Falls, WI and Melissa (Franklin) King of Wausau. He further is survived by eight grandchildren, one great granddaughter, brothers in law John (Gail) Blair and Bryon Neuman.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers, Charles and Nowell.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 17, 2017, at Immanuel Baptist Church, Wausau with Pastor Rob Love officiating. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until time of service at the church. Burial will follow at the Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau.
In lieu of flowers, memorial may be directed to Immanuel Baptist Church or the Wisconsin Parkinson's Association.
William's family would like to thank all the doctors and nurses for their continued care that was given over the years.
