William Wischmeyer, 88, of

at Hospice House.
William was born
December 16, 1920
in the town of
Easton
to the late Harry and Anna (Abma) Wischmeyer. He married Ethel Ninnemann Kordus on
August 16, 1963
in
Pine City
,
Minn.
Ethel preceded him in death on
June 16, 2009
. William worked as a finish carpenter for many years before retiring. He also helped his wife run the Bon Ton Café in
Wausau
and after retirement the

th
Street
Laundromat. William was a member of the church choir, enjoyed bowling, golfing, hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed spending time with family and friends playing cards, dice and going up North.
Survivors include his three stepchildren; Marlene (Donald) Schewe of Wausau, Pamela (Michael) Apfelbeck of Rhinelander, and Glen Kordus of Windsor, 11 step grandchildren, 10 step great grandchildren, and one brother Martin (
Beverly
) Wischmeyer of the town of
Wausau
.
Besides his wife Ethel and his parents, William was preceded in death by two sisters Gertrude Bultman, Rena Vlietstra, and one stepson Dale Kordus.
Funeral services will be
10:30 a.m.
Wednesday September 2, 2009
at St. Stephen Lutheran Church,
Wausau
. The Reverend Gary Froseth will officiate. Entombment will be in Restlawn Memorial Park Mausoleum. Visitation will be from
4 p.m.
until
7 p.m.
Tuesday September 1, 2009
at the Helke Funeral Home,
Wausau
and Wednesday from
10 a.m.
until the time of services at the church.
