William “Bill” Leonard Wortley, 87, of Wausau, died March 26, 2009, at Hospice House in Wausau.
Bill was a proud veteran of the Navy, serving in World War II and the Korean War. He enjoyed the time spent in Texas, with his wife, Harriet, playing golf and enjoying retirement. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Wausau.
Bill is survived by his family, including his daughter, Cheryl Smith, Kenosha; 2 step-sons, Steven (Linda) Kreitlow and Gary (Margy) Kreitlow, both of Rockford, IL; 2 step-grandchildren; 1 sister, Shirley (Bill) Knesley, Libertyville, IL; and 1 brother-in-law, Art (Bernadine) Verick, Wausau.
He was predeceased by his wife of 40 years, on January 1, 2009, Harriet; and his son, Bill Wortley, Jr.
Private family services will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church.
