Yvonne (Tootie) Kandutsch of Wausau passed away Wednesday, November 11, 2009 under the care of Ministry Home Care Hospice at St. Clare’s Hospital.
Yvonne was born October 9, 1931 in Grand Forks, North Dakota to the late Fred and Pauline (Johnson) Rasmussen. In October of 1953, she married Gregor Kandutsch in Superior. He preceded her in death in 1989.
Yvonne retired from Harbor House where she cared for Alzheimer patients and their families with compassion and patience. Her love for nature and the outdoors was shared with all those who knew her. She hoped to pass that affection to her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her two daughters, Karen (Alfred) Dore of Erie, PA, Kay (Bill) Shnowske and one son, Gregg Kandutsch all of Wausau, seven grandchildren, Greg (Courtney) Dore, Dr. Adam (Nina) Dore, Kyle Dore, Brooke, Paige, and William Shnowske, and Madison Kandutsch. One great granddaughter, Samantha Dore, two brothers, and three sisters. She was further preceded in death by one brother.
Memorial services will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, November 14, 2009 at Helke Funeral Home, Wausau. Reverend Dennis Romine of Christian Assembly Church will officiate. Visitation will be Saturday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of services. You may sign our family guest book at helke.com.
